Family friendly events celebrating the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. will be held at several Public Library of Cincinnati & Hamilton County branches this coming Monday, January 19:

Main Library, Children’s Learning Center
Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati actor Deondra Kamau Means will perform Martin’s Dream, a one-man show that explores the real person behind the historic figure. Afterward, children can make an inspirational craft. No registration required. January 19, 2 p.m., Main Library, Children’s Learning Center, 800 Vine St., downtown

Blue Ash Branch Library
Stop in for stories, songs, and crafts for school-age children and their caregivers. No registration required. January 19, 1:30 p.m., Blue Ash Branch Library, 4911 Cooper Rd.

Cheviot Branch Library
After listening to stories celebrating the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., children between the ages of 5 and 11 can decorate a cupcake and paint their own dreams. Registration is required, and you can do so here. January 19, 4 p.m., Cheviot Branch Library, 3711 Robb Ave.

North Central Branch Library
A reading of Martin’s Big Words will be followed by a balloon launch of children’s own dreams. No registration required. January 19, 2 p.m., North Central Branch Library, 11109 Hamilton Ave.

Avondale Branch Library
Children are invited to listen to stories and decorate a paper peace symbol that will be displayed in the Avondale branch throughout Black History Month. No registration required. January 19, 3 p.m., Avondale Branch Library, 3566 Reading Rd.
