This month, Over-the-Rhine’s Cincinnati Shakespeare Company reprises its classic production of Othello—Shakespeare’s 1603 tragedy wherein its namesake character, the Venetian army general, is betrayed by his ensign, Iago—for the first time in eight years, and they’re hoping you’ll follow your visit with a trip around the corner to Ensemble Theatre’s Cincinnati premiere of the Othello companion piece, Red Velvet. CSC Producing Artistic Director Brian Isaac Phillips, director of Red Velvet, helps us connect the dots between the two dramas.
