A peculiar trait drew Alex Mierzwa and Allison Ranieri to one another: They both enjoyed (nay, required) watching Netflix with closed captions. So much so that Allison noted it on her OkCupid page, where Alex saw and knew she had found someone special.
After meeting online, the two exchanged phone numbers the next day, and shortly thereafter had their first date at MadTree Brewing in Oakley, where they would later host their wedding reception. The couple tied the knot in an outdoor ceremony at Cedar Falls in historic Hocking Hills State Park on October 17, 2018.
Alex works as an RTV clerk and photographer, and Allison is an optician and illustrator. The happy couple currently lives in Fairfield.
