In terms of hair, what’s in right now? In Cincinnati, the ombre curve has not completely moved away, mainly because right now we’re into a natural look—whether it’s your hair, your makeup, or your clothing.

I love your chunky bracelet. Statement pieces are big to me, and I love mixing tones of gold. I have a lot of costume jewelry from women in my family that they’ve had for 50 years.

How do you handle clients who don’t know what they want? If they say “Just do whatever you want,” that’s when I ask a lot of questions, because no one really means that. We all have boundaries.

What do you love about what you do? Helping people feel good about themselves. It’s really important to me that when someone leaves my chair they feel better than when they sat down. If I can help them manage their hair and learn to style it on their own, that’s when I’m happy.

Advice for anyone who needs a cut but can’t get to the salon? Don’t try to fix it. It’s not the same haircut you had when you first had it done, so you can’t style it the same anymore.
