Old-Timey Baseball at Heritage Village

These guys really take the term “America’s pastime” to heart. The field at Heritage Village in Sharon Woods is a time machine masquerading as a baseball diamond, home park to the 1869 Red Stockings and the Cincinnati Buckeyes, a pair of local squads belonging to the Vintage Base Ball Association. Teams play the game 1869-style, staying as faithful to the original rules as possible—no gloves, no balls or strikes, and no swearing. (They wear modern shoes, but paint over the logos.) Players’ ages range from 20s to 70s, and admission is free, so long as you pay the park’s entrance fee.
