Three Hamilton Home Decor and Gift Shops to Check Out Now

With the holiday gift-giving season in full swing, there’s no better time to support local business owners. “I think it just feels good when one person helps another person by going to a local business,” says Carrie O’Neal, owner of Scripted Studio in downtown Hamilton. The Hamilton community is flourishing with up-and-coming boutiques. Here are three of our favorites must-visit shops for all of your gifting needs.

Despite the fact that it opened less than six months ago, Wildfire Hygge Goods has quickly established a name for itself as one of Hamilton’s most popular home decor boutiques. Founded by Hamilton resident Sarah Dankhoff, Wildfire’s High Street location came about unexpectedly. “When I moved [to Cincinnati], there was not much in Hamilton at all,” Dankhoff says. “But, when I had my son, I was going down to True West and getting coffee and walking down High Street…[my friends] were getting dinner down there and getting drinks, and I just kind of fell in love with it.”

Wildfire offers unique home decor and accent pieces like canvas wall tarps printed with inspirational quotes and mantras, plus a variety of gifts, including leather-bound journals and jewelry. Dankhoff curates the shop’s inventory with items that match her personal style. Her personality is also reflected in the store itself, which features a vibrant green exterior with gold accents on its façade and a plethora of potted plants and a faux greenery wall on the inside.

Rustic Home

Looking for larger home decor gifts? Visit Rustic Home’s newly renovated storefront on Main Street and shop upcycled and repurposed custom vintage furniture. Owned and operated by Hamilton couple Jessica and Daniel Schwartz, Rustic Home’s handmade pieces, from vanities to kitchen tables, are the perfect accent for any room. Daniel’s extensive carpentry experience enables him to bring outdated furniture fixtures back to life. Pair your furniture purchase with one of the shop’s custom metal artwork pieces and a Swan Creek Candle Co. product, and experience your home’s ambiance transform before your eyes.

Like Dankhoff, the Schwartzes were drawn to open shop in their hometown because of the community support. “The Hamilton pride is outstanding,” Jessica says. “All the people in town are just so thrilled with everything that’s happening…. Our events keep growing, and the more people shop, the more we can do to help give back to the community.”

Scripted Studio

Top off your gifts with a unique greeting card from Scripted Studio’s holiday collection. Fairfield artist Carrie O’Neal had been designing cards and other small art pieces for years, but it wasn’t until last year that she opened Scripted Studio. She says her passion for design, combined with the revitalization of Hamilton and the fact that there weren’t any stationery shops in downtown Hamilton, ultimately inspired her to transition from an in-home studio to a physical storefront. Scripted Studio offers quirky greeting cards, stationery and accessories, and other small gift and home decor items.

“Personality-wise, I would say [my cards] are a lot funnier and snarkier than you would see in most traditional greeting cards,” O’Neal says. “There’s definitely a lot more personality on the cards themselves than you would typically see.” One of her cards, for example, pictures adorable puppies and kittens and the phrase Have yourself a hairy little Christmas. Add a bit of flare to your card of choice by packaging it with a fun gift like champagne gummy bears or a white peppermint mocha sugar stick (we also recommend adding the Way more effective than mistletoe wine tag to your purchase).
