Monday February 19
President’s Day 3v3 Basketball Tournament
Get ready for some non-stop President’s Day youth basketball action. Teams of three to five kids from 3rd to 8th grade can compete for glory in the all-day tournament at Elite Athletics in Batavia. Rounds will be played 3-on-3 and grouped by age. Registration is $100 per team. 10 a.m.- 4 p.m., Elite Athletics Sports Complex, 1155 Old State Rte. 74, Batavia
Discuss and collaborate on original works with fellow black writers at this meet and greet event. You’ll be able to network with the Cincinnati black creative community and show off your works, both written and performed. Sound healer Stacey Shiring is ready to calm and enlighten you at her sound bath meditation session. Using a combination of singing bowls, drums, gongs, and vocals, Stacy creates a therapeutic soundscape for relaxing the mind and body. Warren County Ducks Unlimited is hosting an indoor fishing tournament and they want you to catch the big one- the big paper one, that is. Three species of paper fish are put in the tub and if you pull the “heaviest” ones, you get put on the leaderboard. It’s a $35 entry fee which gets you a draw and $10 worth of food and drinks. Release your artistic energy at one of the most creatively inspiring bars in town. At Second Story in Covington, craft supplies will be provided to help you create your next great work while enjoying some top-notch cocktails. Whiskies of the World: Drink & Food Pairing Experience
Drink your way around the world at Lost and Found OTR with the World Affairs Council’s international whisky tasting. You’ll try Hatozaki from Japan, an aged Irish whisky, and a New Riff single barrel bourbon. Each dram comes with tasting notes, a history lesson, and pairing snacks. World renowned circus performer Gregory Popovich is bringing his troupe of animal actors from Las Vegas to the Queen City. These are professional pet performers who’ve mastered the art of physical comedy through jump roping, horseback riding, skateboarding, and more.
