Want to know which wedding dresses are trending? These four silhouettes and materials are requested most at bridal shops right now and local experts explain why.
“In the past, brides thought crepe was too plain,” says Claire Canter, owner of Mansion Hill Bride in Newport, “but we encourage them to try it and have had a great response.”
Bridal shops are seeing more requests for simple silhouettes and clean looks, says Kelly Hill, owner of Lace Bridal Couture in the Reading Bridal District. “We have Meghan Markel to thank for that.”
Soon-to-be brides are requesting more A-lines with illusion bodices, says Canter, for a semi-sheer look that reveals a little but not too much.
“Right now we’re seeing a lot of body-conscious dresses – not fitted like a mermaid, but more of a trumpet,” says Tina Minshall, general manager of Bridal and Formal in the Reading Bridal District.
