Bar Rosso Opened This Week
Crown Restaurant Group held the grand opening for its newest restaurant Bar Rosso earlier this week. Located at 1324 Vine Street in Over-the-Rhine, the restaurant replaces the group’s Five Kitchen & Bar concept with a menu of steak, frites, and vermouth. “With Bar Rosso, we’ve created an elegant experience without the fuss,” said chef and co-owner Anthony Sitek in a press release. “Our kitchen staff has worked hard to refine every detail of our menu. We’re going to give our guests a perfectly cooked steak, crispy fries, and an exquisite cocktail they’ll love every time.”

Groesbeck Gold Star Reopens This Weekend
The Groesbeck Gold Star (8253 Colerain Avenue) is celebrating the completion of a full restaurant remodel with a grand reopening event from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. today, Friday, September 18, and tomorrow, Saturday, September 19. Customers will receive a free cheese coney with the purchase of any regular drink and have the chance to enter to win a year’s worth of free Gold Star burgers.

Sacred Beast Offers Oktoberfest Special
Sacred Beast is running a limited-time special pairing its chicken schnitzel and a pint of Weihenstephaner beer for $25 from Saturday, September 19, through Sunday, October 4. The dine-in-only offer features a chicken schnitzel topped with arugula, Parmesan, and the diner’s housemade diablo sauce, and a pint of Weihenstephaner. Produced by the Bavarian State Brewery Weihenstephan in Freising, Germany, the beer traces its brewing history to 1040.

Taste of Belgium Rookwood Becomes Brasserie
Starting next week on Tuesday, September 22, foodies will be able to try out new offerings from the man behind Taste of Belgium. Jean-François Flechet is offering a sneak peek at Jacques, his new modern brasserie, during Greater Cincinnati Restaurant Week. Located at 3825 Edwards Road in the Rookwood Exchange development, the new restaurant—which will share the space with Taste of Belgium—will feature dishes with “Belgian roots and French techniques,” such as gougères (French cheese puffs), escargots in garlic-parsley butter, and mussels baked with white wine and Gruyère. The Duck & Waffle will put a twist on Taste of Belgium’s best-selling item, the Waffle & Chicken, pairing duck leg confit with the signature cake-y waffle, berry compote, and rich duck jus. The full Jacques menu launches Thursday, October 1.

Dinner With Friends Event at Sudova
Cheyenne Galbraith of Benton Harbor, Michigan eatery Houndstooth will serve up a one-night, five-course collaborative dinner with wine pairings by Hart & Cru on Wednesday, September 23, at Sudova (22 W. Court St., downtown Cincinnati). The menu will feature Houndstooth’s seasonal, globally influenced dishes with Sudova’s Eastern European flair. Tickets are $220 per person and include all five courses and wine pairings (plus tax and gratuity). Seating is limited, and reservations can be made through OpenTable.

Total Wine & More Opens in Florence
Total Wine & More, the nation’s largest independent retailer of wine, spirits and beer, will open its first tri-state location on Thursday, September 24, at 7646 Mall Road in Village at the Mall in Florence. The retailer offers more than 8,000 wines, 4,500 distilled spirits, and 2,500 beers, plus non-alcoholic and THC-infused options.

Milkman Celebrates Four Years with Birthday Special
OTR burger joint Milkman is celebrating four years in business with a behemoth called the Quad Burger. The burger features four stacked patties and a side of fries for $19.95. Try it out before the special goes away at the end of the month.
