Sabyle Zeringis knows Cincinnati’s beauty industry like the back of her well-manicured hand. In her more than seven years working at various local salons, she’s excelled in roles ranging from spa coordinator to nail technician to esthetician—she even helped create the skincare department at OTR’s popular Spruce Nail Shop. In August, she added yet another title—spa owner—to her résumé when she opened Haven Spa + Café in Covington.

Equipped with separate street entrances, the neighboring spa and café are connected by a corridor, so customers can easily pop in and out of each space. Zeringis’s main goal? To create a one-stop destination for those looking to treat themselves to high-quality beauty and food products and services without having to sacrifice natural, flavorful ingredients. “If you want a high-quality skincare product, a lot of the time those aren’t associated with natural brands, so you’re kind of sacrificing. Do I want something that’s really going to work, or do I want to get a natural product? The same is true for food,” she says.

Gua sha involves massaging your skin with a special tool to improve circulation. “It drains lymphatic fluid and excess blood from your face, giving you less puffiness,” says Zeringis.

Zeringis’s passion for food was sparked just a few years ago by a bout of acne, which compelled her to change her diet and skincare routine. Around the same time, feeling confident she had mastered nails, she returned to school to become an esthetician. Now Zeringis blends all three of her passions—nails, food, and skincare—at Haven. Visit the spa now for manicures, pedicures, and nail art. Eventually, you can expect holistic facials, eyebrow waxing and tinting services, and Zeringis’s specialty: gua sha massages, a Chinese healing technique. Stop in the café for coffees, teas, matcha drinks, and lattes made with adaptogens, plus pastries from Brown Bear Bakery and Charnee’s Mindful Donuts. Zeringis also plans on adding a food menu featuring toasts, smoothies, and breakfast and smoothie bowls.

Haven’s slogan is You are safe here. So whether you’re ordering a latte or getting a gua sha massage, Zeringis guarantees a healthy, safe internal and external result, meaning you’ll look and feel good. Not only does she want customers to feel safe about the products they’re buying, she also wants them to feel welcome, as if they were a close family member or friend. “I want it to be a retreat for people and a space where people feel safe, loved, and better than they did when they came in,” she says. “Hence the name Haven.”
