As James Brown aptly put it, “This is a man’s world.” Your wages are higher, your Viagra is covered by insurance, and you didn’t have to picket the president for your right to vote. So why do you put up with bunchy, unimaginative undies? Well gents, suffer no more: Knickers XY on Hyde Park Square is here to help you slip into something a little more comfortable.
Exhibit A: Pull-in’s super soft poly/lycra-blend briefs and shorts, which come in an array of cheeky (sorry, we couldn’t resist) prints such as strawberries and Superman logos. And thanks to 2(x)ist’s tuxedo-inspired tencel boxers, men can get a formal look right down to their skivvies. “It’s a growing market,” explains Knickers XY COO David Fender. “Men’s underwear stores are starting to open up in pockets of the West and East Coasts,” he says.
Shoppers will barely recognize the former Cincy Designer Shoes space; Knickers XY tore down walls, added a full-service barber shop, remodeled the mezzanine to accommodate parties, and filled the vault of this former bank with skin care products like Baxter and Nickel’s Morning After Rescue Gel, which soothes under-eye bags for us double-Xers, too.

And guys, as long as you’re trading up, book yourself a little man-scaping time with XY’s in-house barber, Angelo Salzano, who deals out haircuts, shaves, and facials for walk-ins and by appointment. If only Queer Eye for the Straight Guy’s grooming guru Kyan Douglas could see you now.
