Two Bellevue Business Owners Turned This Home into a California Dream

From the bohemian decor to the Joshua Tree-esque backyard, this Northern Kentucky house has major Cali vibes.

333 Walnut St., Bellevue

If you’ve ever been to the Bellevue boutique Coda Co., shopped for baby clothes at Sage & Scout, or stopped by Nomad for a boozy milkshake, you’re already familiar with the laid-back, bohemian vibe. This home channels similar decor and style—probably because Tanner and Kelti Ziese are the owners of all four: Nomad, Sage & Scout, Coda Co., and this home on Bellevue’s Walnut Street.

The 1,700-square-foot home clocks in at three floors and has loads of character inside and out. From the front, it’s unassuming with basic brick and simple front yard that’s a staple in this Northern Kentucky neighborhood. The front porch is ideal for a table and chairs to enjoy morning coffee, but it’s the inside and the backyard where this home truly shines.

The living room is moody and cozy with a black accent wall framing the fireplace and a set of pillars that lead into the dining room area. Sage green walls contrast the dark wood floors and white trim, and part of the wall has exposed brick peeking out that adds an urban feel to the otherwise relaxed space.

In the back of the house, the L-shaped kitchen features all-white, shaker cabinets and stainless appliances. The clean look is offset by the exposed brick and dark countertops, and there’s cleverly placed built-in shelving between the kitchen and dining room for extra pantry storage.

Upstairs, white walls and light wood floors create an airy and modern feel in each room. The main bedroom is full of natural light and the rest of the bedrooms—including the space that’s currently used as an art studio—are similar.

There’s even a third floor living space that can be transformed into whatever fits your family’s needs. The current owners have it setup as a lounge-slash-movie-room with a projector screen and simple, peaceful decor, but there are plenty of other options, too—the space could easily be a home gym, playroom, or work-from-home office.

For the entertainer and outdoorsy person, out back is perhaps the best part of the home. The backyard is reminiscent of a Joshua Tree Airbnb complete with a sunny yellow stock tank pool, pergola-covered seating area, and a firepit in the center of it all. It’s the ultimate entertaining space and with the surrounding fence, it’s perfect for pet owners, too. Summer cocktail hour sounds so dreamy out there!
