Take a Trip Down Butler County’s Doughnut Trail

691

If only the actual paths between Butler County’s bevy of pastry shops were paved with sprinkles and frosting. We’ll have to use our imagination there, but fortunately the Butler County Visitors Bureau has plotted a baker’s dozen of must-visit shops along an 80-mile swath of the county. The bureau challenges die-hard fanatics to visit each shop, get their passport (downloaded from their site) stamped along the way, and earn the official BCDT T-shirt.

The real prize is bragging rights, but seeing rubber and ink hit the paper as you make your way around the county’s four corners is oh so satisfying. If you’re hardcore enough to attempt the entire list in a single day, let us give you a few pointers: Jot down your plan of attack, noting the shops’ varying business hours; start early (they run out as lunchtime approaches); and consider not eating them all at once. With this much of a sugar rush, you might just start seeing those candy-coated roads after all.
