If you’re a Cincinnati lifer, you might assume that Delhi Palace is a west side reception hall. It is, in fact, an Indian restaurant in Silverton. And while Cincinnati does not lack for good Indian restaurants, Silverton does. So if you find yourself on that particular stretch of Montgomery Road seeking perfectly executed subcontinental classics, you can pull right over.

Hit the budget-friendly $7.99 lunch buffet for a scoop of creamy saag paneer, hearty dal, and chicken makhani (a butter chicken stew with nuts and raisins). Prefer to order from the menu? Try the vegetable biryani, a robust rice dish, with a side of light and crispy fried bhatura bread.

The rogan josh—a traditional Persian lamb dish—is intensely aromatic and spicy. And if you order carryout, prepare to be impressed with Delhi Palace’s hospitality: They threw in a fruit custard with mango, grapes, and apple, just so that we could give it a try. For a less traditional dessert, consider the mango juice.
Served in a tall, unassuming pint glass, it looks like approximately 400 mangoes gave their lives for that generous serving. An infusion of rose water makes it fragrant and kind of glamorous, so you’ll feel fancy even as you sip it through the plastic straw.
