LEGO is an expensive hobby. But there’s an off-the-beaten-path place in town where you can score loads of LEGO for less. Located in Butler County, HHH Brick Depot is a LEGO resale shop specializing in new, used, retired, and hard-to-find LEGO.

The shop itself is clean, easy to navigate, and well-organized. There are tables full of clear bins holding loose LEGO bricks of all sizes, shapes, and colors; individually packaged minifigures; shelves carrying already-built masterpieces; and walls filled with brand-new, in-the-box sets. Best of all, everything’s priced at a fraction of what you’d pay in a big-box store. Even before the pandemic hit, all of the sets and figures were thoroughly sanitized before hitting the shelves.

We’ve been venturing into the world of LEGO for a few years now, and I love it. These mini bricks and figures encourage STEM-tastic learning, independence, imaginative play, and so much more. But what I don’t love about LEGO is how expensive these teeny tiny little bricks are. Sets can easily cost upward of $100, and the licensed Star Wars and Harry Potter kits are not only über expensive, they’re hard to find. If there’s a particular set or figure you’re seeking, owner Beau Butler is happy to help. I’ve sent Butler messages through HHH Brick Depot’s Facebook page, frantically searching for a particular set. He’s always quick to respond, and happy to help. It’s the kind of service you can really only get from a local retailer.

And for those of us drowning in bricks (thanks, Christmas), HHH Brick Depot buys all things LEGO. New sets, open sets, loose sets, built sets, spare parts…you can sell it all.

HHH Brick Depot is a fun place to visit and browse, but if you feel more comfortable shopping online, Butler regularly posts photos of in-stock sets and figures on the store’s Facebook page (you simply call to reserve or request sets, which can be ready for an easy in-store or curbside pickup). So tell your kids to dream big and build away—with HHH Brick Depot, the wonderful world of LEGO is accessible and affordable.
