Alumni who like to hang with their old friends, multiple generations of west side families, and current Elder students and their parents.

WHEN:
Remaining home games are at 7 p.m. September 4 (East Central, Indiana); September 11 (LaSalle); September 18 (Louisville St. Xavier); September 25 (St. Xavier); October 16 (Indianapolis Bishop Chatard); October 23 (Mt. Zion Prep, Maryland); plus possible playoffs.

WHY:
High school football is king in this part of the Midwest, and some of the best local rivalries are in the Greater Catholic League (Elder, LaSalle, Moeller, St. X). The Pit is the city’s most revered high school stadium, opening in 1947 and holding 10,000 fans.

VIBE:
Family-friendly pregame activities happen in the school parking lots at Elder and neighboring Seton High School, while more casual eating, drinking, and reliving of glory days are hosted at businesses along Glenway Avenue. Activities kick off two hours before game time and usually feature an appearance by the marching band, The Spirit of Elder, which includes Seton students. Wear purple!
