MONDAY JANUARY 22

Asian Cuisine Week Kickoff Party

Asianati is kicking off their annual Asian Cuisine Week with a party at OTR Stillhouse. There will be live music by Mark Joshua, a specialty cocktail, and some light bites from a few participating establishments. Don’t forget to pick up your Asian Cuisine Week passport to collect special stickers provided by the restaurants around town. 5-9 p.m., OTR Stillhouse, 2017 Branch St., Over-the-Rhine

Robert Burns Night

Head to Nicholson’s for the traditional Scottish celebration honoring the life and works of poet Robert Burns. Get ready for a night of Highland fun with Celtic music, dancing, and reading of Burns’s poetry. The $75 feast ticket includes whisky tastings, a four-course family-style dinner, and the Traditional Toast to Haggis. TUESDAY JANUARY 23

A24 Film Club: Everything Everywhere All At Once

You can discuss 2023 Academy Award Best Picture winner Everything Everywhere All At Once with your fellow independent cinema fans at A24 Film Club. Copies of the movie will be available at the College Hill Library or you can stream it for free with your library card on Kanopy. Christopher Eliopoulos Book Signing

Cartoonist Christopher Eliopoulos, known for illustrating the book series Ordinary People Change the World, will be visiting Cincinnati. He’ll be signing and discussing the newest book in the Ordinary People series, I am Ruth Bader Ginsburg. WEDNESDAY JANUARY 24

Union Terminal’s Rotunda will be the concert venue for Music in the Museum with Nathan Laube.

Music in the Museum: Nathan Laube

World famous organist Nathan Laube will play the recently restored 1929 Grand E.M. Skinner Symphonic Concert Organ at Music in the Museum. Experience the unique acoustics of the Union Terminal’s rotunda as Laube takes on Rachmaninoff and Liszt and joins forces with principal clarinet player of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra Christopher Pell for some Debussy. For an extra $10 you can get access to the pre-concert reception with drinks and light desserts. 7:30 p.m., Cincinnati Museum Center, 1301 Western Ave., West End

Opera Fusion: New Works presents Bulrusher

Cincinnati Opera is partnering with CCM to give people a free preview of the new opera, Bulrusher. This will be the first full piano workshop of the piece by co-librettists Nathaniel Stoookey and Eisa Davis about a young African American woman in the 1950s embracing her identity. THURSDAY JANUARY 25

Bird Trivia Night At 16 Lots Brewing Company

Wild Birds Unlimited will be giving all bird enthusiasts a chance to show off their knowledge and win some prizes at Bird Trivia Night. All the questions will be related to avian populations in some way. Entry is free but teams are limited to six people. Secret Base Cinema: Blood and Black Lace

Join cult film society Secret Base Cinema at the Mariemont Theatre for their first screening of 2024. This month, they’re showing 1964 Italian giallo classic Blood and Black Lace. The murder mystery about haute couture models will be screened in its original Italian with English subtitles.
