Although they grew up less than a mile apart, Stephanie Hasken and William Ammerman didn’t meet until 2014, when they had a chance encounter at a Kentucky Derby party. With mutual feelings of love at first sight, they kept their long-distance relationship going for three-and-a-half years until William popped the question in 2017.
Each table at their wedding reception was decorated with note cards capturing the couple’s favorite quotes and song lyrics, and the couple’s first dance was to “Mango Tree” by Zac Brown Band and Sara Bareilles. Also, the bakery that made their wedding cake was the same one that made Stephanie’s parents’ wedding cake in 1979.
The bride is an apparel technical designer, and the groom works as a branch manager.
