ESTABLISHED 2015

MISSION La Soupe bridges the gap between food waste and hunger by transforming surplus ingredients into nutritious meals for those in need through the power of chefs.

SERVING OUR COMMUNITY An estimated 18 million households experience food insecurity, meaning they lack reliable access to sufficient, affordable, and nutritious food. Simultaneously, 38 percent of all food in the U.S. goes unsold or uneaten, with 80 million tons of perfectly good food ending up in landfills.

At La Soupe, we turn rescued food into nourishment and opportunity by transforming high-quality, perishable food that would otherwise go to waste into nutritious meals, led by our professional chefs and dedicated volunteers. We share these meals with neighbors facing food insecurity through a network of community partners.

Along with our immediate efforts to combat food waste and insecurity, our dietitians, teachers, and advocates are dedicated to encouraging lasting change through our programs that educate and empower communities to waste less and live healthier.

OTHER WAYS TO HELP
• Volunteer: Volunteers are the heartbeat of our operations, fueling our mission every day through kitchen prep, soupe ladling, picking up and delivering food, and teaching assistants for our culinary education team. Join us as an individual or group!
• Donate: Whether it’s a one-time gift or a monthly donation, a transfer of stock or a contribution from a donor-advised fund, your donation makes a difference in getting more nutritious meals to the community.
• Get Involved: Invite us to your school or business for a delicious (and informative!) Lunch & Learn, host a traditional or virtual food drive, or join us at an event.
