This weekend, chic Over-the-Rhine boutique Idlewild, known for its curated collection of designer apparel, will unveil its new expansion: avant-garde concept store, FORM.

Located right next door at 1232 Vine St. and sharing a connected storefront with Idlewild, FORM is a fresh, experimental take on the shopping experience. While Idlewild has been the go-to spot for timeless wardrobe staples and independent designer brands for more than a decade, FORM will feature avant-garde pieces, including sculptural shoes, unique art pieces, and bold clothing that challenges traditional fashion norms. Think of it as a showroom for the garments you’ve seen on the runway.

Created “as a natural extension of Idlewild,” according to FORM owner and Idlewild Store Director Tessa Clark, the new store will share the same sharp design, but “explore a different side of the story.” The space is designed not just to showcase the artful side of fashion, but to invite a deeper exploration of art, design, and self-expression.

According to Clark FORM will be a space for people to “try things on—literally and conceptually.” The store’s design blurs the line between retail and art gallery, showcasing a curated selection of objects that engage with the world in more abstract ways. Whether it’s a piece of clothing or an art object, the goal is to create a conversation and expand the narrative of what a fashion store can offer.

For those long familiar with Idlewild, FORM will offer the same commitment to high-quality design, but with a bold, artistic twist. Whether you’re an Idlewild regular or a newcomer to the neighborhood, FORM promises a new retail experience that goes beyond shopping, offering an opportunity to interact with pieces that feel like works of art.

To celebrate its grand opening on April 25-26, FORM is kicking things off with a two-day event full of creative energy. Friday will feature live sketching by artist Sue Blaney, a reception and artist talk with Skinny Dip Jewelry, and music from DJ BoyWife. Saturday, the store will host poetry readings by Dogeared Writers, live music from Justin Dawson, and mocktails from Conscious Seed. Throughout both days, guests will be treated to coffee, infused waters, and other beverages as they explore the new space.

Following the grand opening, both FORM and Idlewild will be open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m..
