Traveler’s Table Opens Tonight
Earlier this week, Taste Food and Wine Group announced that its newest restaurant, Traveler’s Table, will open to the public for dinner tonight, September 4, in Ft. Thomas. Located at 1011 S. Fort Thomas Ave., the new concept combines authentic dishes and wine traditions and stories from cultures around the world. Rather than focusing on a single cuisine, each dish offers a window into the people, traditions and places it comes from. Menu highlights include a classic pintxo (an anchovy, olive, and pickled pepper bar snack from the Basque region of Spain), flammekueche (a flatbread with simple toppings, such as bacon or onions, from Alsace, France), and ceviche (a popular Peruvian fish dish). Traveler’s, which will have 40 indoor dining seats, bar seating, and around 50 outdoor seats, is open for dinner Tuesday through Thursday from 4 to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 4 to 10 p.m.
Labor Day Weekend Special at Kona Grill
In honor of Labor Day, Kona Grill is offering its $3/$6/$9 happy hour specials on its margaritas, hand-rolled sushi, and shareable bites all weekend long through Monday, Sept. 7. Customers can also get mix and match sushi rolls for $25. The restaurant—which has about 23 U.S. locations in the United States, including spots in Columbus, Las Vegas, and San Antonio—is located at the Liberty Center shopping development at 7524 Gibson Street in Liberty Township.
Che Changes Locations
This week, the Argentinian street food restaurant Ché moved back to its original location at 3009 O’Bryon Street in O’Bryonville to make room for the construction of a second location of Argentinian steakhouse Butcher and Barrel. “Celebrate the next chapter of Ché with us as we return to our roots with a refreshed space, new menu favorites, and the same neighborhood energy you love,” the restaurant said in an Instagram post. Ignite Entertainment originally opened Ché in the same spot in 2021.
Graeter’s Celebrates Oktoberfest with New Flavor
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Oktoberfest Zinzinnati, Graeter’s has released an apple strudel flavor. Inspired by the traditional Southern Bavarian dessert, it features cinnamon ice cream with baked apples, icing and cinnamon pastry pieces. The flavor is available by the scoop and in pints at local Graeter’s scoop shops and can be found at Dorothy Lane Markets and Jungle Jim’s while supplies last. You can also get a scoop of the new flavor when the Graeter’s truck pulls up at Oktoberfest from September 17-20.
City View Tavern Under New Ownership
After six years on the market, City View Tavern in Mt. Adams has new owners. “Please ‘pardon our dust’ and be a little patient as we start the process of doing some updates and getting to know our great staff of bartenders and cooks!” read a post on the bar’s Facebook page this week. “We value your support and will make modest changes over the coming weeks to improve your experience while enjoying the view!” Retired attorney and author Randy Freking and his business partner, Clinton Rollins, purchased City View from owners Deb Henning and Silas Evans, who ran the bar for 41 years. Located at 403 Oregon Street, it’s one of the oldest bars in the city, dating back to 1875.
Braille Bourbon Launches on September 15
Cincinnati Association for the Blind & Visually Impaired (CABVI) and Northside Distilling Co. will release CABVI’s limited-edition Braille Bourbon on Tuesday, September 15. The event, which takes place from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Northside Distilling Co. (922 Race St. downtown), will feature a special 115-proof bourbon honoring CABVI’s 115 years of promoting inclusion for individuals who are blind or visually impaired. The Braille Bourbon bottle features a signature braille label, and each bottle is paired with a commemorative Rookwood Pottery decanter.
FUSIAN’s Curry Bowls are Back
Through October 27, the Ohio-based fast-casual chain FUSIAN is bringing back its signature chicken curry bowl. A customer favorite, the bowl features chicken, roasted sweet potatoes, red onions, sweet peppers and edamame with housemade curry sauce served over white or brown rice. The chain currently has seven locations around Ohio, including one at 8060 Montgomery Road in Kenwood.
