SERVATii Celebrates Its 63rd Birthday Today
To mark its 63rd birthday today, SERVATii is selling coffee, glazed donuts, traditional pretzel sticks, and freshly baked brownies for just 63 cents each, while supplies last. Founder Wilhelm Gottenbusch opened his first location on Observatory Avenue in Hyde Park in 1963. Currently run by Gottenbusch’s son Greg, the bakery now has 15 locations in the tri-state.

Diner en Blanc Ticket Sales End Today
Today is the last day to get tickets for next weekend’s Diner en Blanc event. The bring-your-own-picnic dinner, now in its 11th year, takes place at a secret location somewhere in the city and requires attendees to wear all white. Previous locations include Washington Park, Fountain Square, and the Purple People Bridge.

Wayfarer Tavern’s New Pizza Collab Series
Wayfarer Tavern continues its limited-time-only pizza party collaboration series starting next week. From August 24 through October 11, customers can visit the Dayton, Kentucky, pizza joint for one-of-a-kind collabs* with the following restaurants:

  • Week 1 (August 24-30): Mid-City Restaurant
  • Week 2 (August 31-September 6): Etxe Spanish Steakhouse
  • Week 3 (September 7-13): Reka’s
  • Week 4 (September 14-20): Surprise guest for Oktoberfest Zinzinnati
  • Week 5 (September 21-27): Colette
  • Week 6 (September 28–October 4): Sudova
  • Week 7 (October 5-9): Yô Đi

UDF Announces Grippo’s-Inspired Ice Cream Flavor
Earlier this week, United Dairy Farmers’ announced its latest Homemade Brand ice cream flavor: Fun Food Crunch. Inspired by Grippo’s, the buttered popcorn flavored ice cream has a Bar-B-Q spice infused caramel swirl and is finished with crunchy chocolate-covered pretzels. This sweet and salty creation is available in area Kroger stores and all UDF retail locations for a limited time. Check out our Instagram reel on the new flavor here.

Bar Rosso’s Concept Announced
Last week, Crown Restaurant Group announced the menu for its new restaurant Bar Rosso will focus on steak, frites, and vermouth. “With Bar Rosso, we wanted to build a menu that feels confident and complete rather than crowded,” said Chef Anthony Sitek in a press release. “We’re going to execute what people enjoy the most—a perfect steak, frites, and a cocktail.” Located at 1324 Vine Street, the new eatery will replace the restaurant group’s Five Kitchen & Bar concept this fall.

Rhinegeist Adds Pizza to Elm Street Taproom
In an effort to enhance the customer experience, Pizza Time will open inside of Rhinegeist Brewery’s taproom at 1910 Elm Street in Over-the-Rhine this fall. The pizza joint will offer specialty pizzas, salads, and sides from a 450-foot standalone stall. The addition is one of several that address consumer feedback, including improving the air conditioning output and in-house catering options.

Parkside Moving Next Spring
Last week, it was announced that Latin-inspired restaurant Parkside—owned by Trevor Snowden, the man behind Delwood and Guardia in Mount Lookout—will relocate to the former MexCantina space at corner of Erie Avenue and Edwards Road next spring. The move will double its current seating capacity and kitchen capabilities. “We’re incredibly excited to move Parkside down to the corner and bring something new to Hyde Park Square in the current Parkside space,” a post on the restaurant’s Instagram account stated. “Stay tuned!”
