Free Lunch Fridays at Chase’s
Downtown grab-and-go lunch spot Chase’s Sandwich Shop—located in the Salmon P. Chase building at 300 Main Street—officially opened earlier this week and celebrates with a Free Lunch Fridays giveaway today, December 20. The first 100 customers in line at the walk-up window will receive a complimentary boxed lunch featuring a signature sandwich, chips, water, and a cookie. Signature sandwiches including:
- The Buck: Prosciutto, capicola, mojo sauce, and roasted sweet onions.
- Main Street Hustle: Sixteen-hour roasted brisket, mustard, cabbage, and pickles.
- Greenback: Mortadella, parmigiana sauce, roasted peppers, and pistachios.
- Silver Dollar: Black and green olive tapenade, toasted almonds, eggplant, and zucchini.
Chase’s Sandwich Shop is open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.
Cap City Opens This Weekend
Cap City Fine Diner and Bar, the first Greater Cincinnati concept from Cameron Mitchell Restaurants, will open this weekend on Sunday, December 22. Located inside of the new Hotel Celare in Clifton Heights across from the University of Cincinnati, the restaurant features a menu of classic comfort food, including an All-American cheeseburger and a buffalo chicken sandwich as well as brunch favorites, such as French toast.

McCollum’s on York Opens in Newport
Last week, McCollum’s on York opened in the old York Street Café space in Newport. The new restaurant is named for Richard McCollum, who served as executive chef at York Street for several years before it closed this summer after nearly three decades. The menu is “new America bistro” and features entrées such as prime filet, double bone-in pork chop, and smoked half chicken. The restaurant’s secondary lounge will open in late January and lunch service will return next spring.
CRG Releases Pasta Sauce
Crown Restaurant Group (CRG) recently launched Gracie’s Gravy, a premium pasta sauce inspired by the family recipe of Chef Anthony Sitek’s grandmother, Grace. It’s now available for purchase at Crown Republic, Rosie’s Italian, Crown Cantina, Losanti, Five on Vine, and Young Buck Deli as well as the Over-the-Rhine clothing store The Native One.
