Special Melt at Tom & Chee
On Monday, September 23, grilled cheese fave Tom & Chee will start selling the CURE-runchy Spicy Chicken Melt to support the cancer research foundation The Cure Starts Now in honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. The sandwich—which is only available at select locations through October 20—is cheddar and pepper jack cheese on top of oven-roasted chicken, jalapeño peppers, sautéed onions, mixed greens, tomato and tortilla strips with chipotle ranch on white bread.
Cincinnati Observatory Partners with Rhinegeist Brewery
The Cincinnati Observatory’s annual Celestial Sips event takes place next Saturday. Attendees can enjoy beer from Rhinegeist Brewery, light bites, a s’mores bar, and more, under the stars. Each ticket purchase includes a limited-edition Observatory-branded pilsner. You can also view Saturn and other celestial objects through the historic Mitchel telescope (weather permitting) and take tours of the Observatory. Gin Event at the Civic Garden Center
The Civic Garden Center is giving participants a chance to learn how to make boozy botanicals during its “Craft Your Own Gin” event next month. The class, which costs $50 per person, covers the basics of harvesting botanicals for gin, and includes We’ll taste some of the CGC staff’s creations, then take time to enjoy our fall garden and all the delights we have at our fingertips as we walk and sip and craft together. Participants will leave with their own botanical collection and instructions for infusing. The instructors are Julie Dennewitz (CGC horticulturist) and Mary Dudley (CGC director of education). Mama Pompilio’s Kitchen Opens in Bellevue
Earlier this month, Pompilio’s opened Mama Pompilio’s Kitchen inside of the Merchants Club at The Party Source. Agave & Rye to Open in Hamilton
Next month, Agave & Rye is scheduled to open its latest location in Hamilton. Located at 339 Main Street on the site of a former auto body shop, the restaurant—known for its gourmet tacos—will feature a bar with eight TVs and more than 70 varieties of bourbon and tequila as well as roll-up garage doors expanding onto a large patio. This will be the EPIC Brands’s 18th Agave & Rye location.
