Cincinnati Weekend Picks March 7-9

It’s a jam-packed weekend in Cincinnati with events as far as the eye can see. It is, of course, Bockfest so look here for our guide to those festivities. Everything else, from film festivals to wine festivals to music festivals, is ready to be explored.


Over-the-Rhine International Film Festival

The nation’s first diversity film festival led by people from the disability community is back with three days of screenings, discussions, and celebrations. The lineup includes shorts, features, documentaries, and everything in between with open captioning and accessibility guides so everyone has the ability to enjoy the films. Check the website for additional information about ASL interpreters and audio description. Venues include Music Hall, the Cincinnati Museum Center, the Woodward Theatre, Union Hall, the Contemporary Arts Center, Site 1212, and the Art Academy of Cincinnati. Price Hill Will’s Mardi Gras Ball

The annual Price Hill Will fundraiser is back for the ninth year with three floors of live jazz music, raffles, games, immersive art, food, drinks, and more. Tickets are $75 and include a Cajun-style buffet, three entertainment tickets, and beverages. The 10th Annual Top of the Hill Awards will be presented to community leaders and a special prize will be given to the most festively dressed at the ball. All proceeds go to Price Hill Will. Cincinnati International Wine Festival

The beloved weekend of wine has moved to the new Freestore Foodbank Distribution Center but will be the same celebration of all things vino. Grand Tasting tickets are $95 and include a commemorative wine glass, unlimited sips from around the globe, and light bites (to prepare your stomach for more wine, of course.) VIP is $140 and includes high-end tastings. Designated driver tickets are $50 and include unlimited non-alcoholic drinks. Mutual Dance Theatre Presents Whim W’him

Thanks to the Jefferson James Contemporary Dance Theater Series through Mutual Dance Theatre, cutting-edge contemporary dance company Whim W’him will be making their Cincinnati debut. The group will perform three pieces exploring the meanings of love, competition, and aesthetics. Friday’s performance will include an ASL interpreter and post-show Q&A while Saturday’s performance will have a pre-show interview with the artistic directors. Women’s Day at Urban Artifact

Urban Artifact’s annual International Women’s Day celebration is back. The brewery will be selling its Women’s Day 2025 pineapple, strawberry, and coconut sour with a portion of the proceeds going to the International Women in Brewing Scholarship at Cincinnati State. From 1-5 p.m. there will be a women-owned makers market with businesses like Hive & Comb, The Oakley Soap Company, and Nocturne Tarot in attendance. Bonded Spirit Music Festival

The perfect blend of bourbon and bluegrass is back in Covington with a killer musical lineup and 500 bottles of bourbon ready for tasting. The B-Line and Smoke Justis have come together again to bring Lindsay Lou, Ikes and Hensley, and The Brothers Comatose to town for one night only. General Admission is $75 and standing room only with food and drink for purchase while VIP is $225 and includes a voucher for a commemorative New Riff bourbon, priority viewing, a swag bag, barbecue, artist meet-and-greets, drink tickets, and access to VIP areas. Sat, March 8, 5 p.m., Smoke Justis, 302 Court St., Covington

FC Cincinnati vs. Toronto FC

The Orange and Blue are back at TQL Stadium and after a disappointing performance against the Philadelphia Union, the Pride is ready to get their groove back against Toronto. Arrive early for this game—the first 10,000 fans in the stadium get a free Gary the Lion bobblehead! Avant-Garde Art & Craft Spring Show

Over 80 local crafters and artisans will be selling their wares at this year’s Spring Avant-Garde Art & Craft Show. In addition to the vendors, there will be a full bar, concession stand, and the Cincy Smash food truck on site. Admission is three dollars with kids under 12 getting in for free. Sandwiches of History: LIVE!

Viral sandwich historian Barry W. Enderwick is hitting the road and making a stop at the most apropos location in town, Jungle Jim’s. The show— described as part TED-talk, part comedy, part sandwich-making extravaganza—will also feature Jungle Jim’s Podcast host Mark Borison as the special guest.
