What’s the best way to celebrate a brewery’s first anniversary? This Saturday, the folks behind Braxton Brewing Co. will throw themselves a birthday party where you get the presents—in the form of beers, natch. Let us bottom-line it for you:

  1. This is a party. Braxton takes over the adjacent MadLot for the festivities, and you can get down to the sweet sounds of Buffalo Wabs, Price Hill Hustle, Motherfolk, and headliner Red Wanting Blue. There will also be food trucks. And beer. Plus the opportunity to…
  2. Take home a Trophy (or two). Trophy Pale Ale, to be precise. Each quarterly iteration of Trophy features a different specialty hop, which gives the beer a different profile and flavor. This version—featuring Palisade hops (apricot, citrus, floral)—is available in 22-ounce bottles for the first time. And there’s a very good reason why you should fork over some cabbage for those bottles…
  3. It supports the community. Braxton calls this its “give back” beer (it’s right there on the label), because 5 percent of all Trophy proceeds are donated back to Northern Kentucky community projects. At the party on Saturday, they’ll announce which local nonprofit is the recipient of the first Trophy Grant. Which is sure to give you a serious case of the warm fuzzies, but if you’d also like more beer…
  4. You can try three new additions to the Braxton lineup. Catalyst Czech Pilsner, 1st Gear Belgian IPA, and Yesterday’s Headlines Berliner Weisse (and their respective variants) will all be tapped throughout the day.
  5. Still want more? Snag a 1 Liter of the Yesterday’s Headlines Kiwi Berliner Weisse (only 600 will be available; preorder here) or one of 300 Tequila Barrel Aged Whole Bean Coffee bottles.

Check out the Facebook event page or head to Braxton’s website. The party starts at noon, Saturday, March 26, at the brewery, 27 W. Seventh St. in Covington.
