Calling all bakers!
Does whipping up a pie or cake tickle your fancy? Are your friends always asking you to bring your famous cookies or brownies? Well it’s time to let your confectionary talents shine!
Introducing… Cincinnati Magazine’s First Ever GREAT BAKE-OFF!
Whether you’re a hobby baker or a professional, this competition is for you.
Cincinnati’s artistic and imaginative baking community will be taking center stage this October in Cincinnati Magazine’s inaugural “Great Bake-Off” confectionary competition.
Whether you’re a paid professional or an at-home baker, you are invited to apply NOW to participate in the following categories:
- Celebrate Cincinnati Cake Decorating
- Pies to Die For
- Gimme Gimme Cookies + Brownies
- Knead More Bread
A select number of participants will be chosen to compete throughout the Great Bake-off week, October 16-19, at the Midwest Culinary Institute followed by a sweet and savory public celebration of all the baked goodness on October 20 when the winners are announced!
Baker applications are being accepted NOW through October 5, and the participants will be announced October 7.
PARTICIPANT REQUIREMENTS:
Amateur Bakers
- must be 18 or older
- must bake out of your home kitchen
- must not be an employee of a restaurant, bakery, caterer or a commercial kitchen
- must bake all entries from scratch (no box mixes, etc.)
- must submit photos of previous creations
- must create 2 identical entries – one for judging, one for display
Professional Bakers
- must be 18 or older
- must be a current employee of a restaurant, bakery, caterer or a commercial kitchen
- must bake out of a professional kitchen and obtain approval from employer to participate
- must bake all entries from scratch (no box mixes, etc.)
- must submit photos of previous creations
- must create 2 identical entries – one for judging, one for display
