In a city this German, you can’t throw a giant soft pretzel without hitting an Oktoberfest celebration. Don’t let your dirndl and vintage ceramic stein collect dust—check out one (or all) of these Oktoberfests around town.


Factory 52 Oktoberfest

Braxton Brewery at Factory 52 will be transformed into a Bavarian beer hall for the weekend. In addition to the release of seasonal brews like Oktoberfuel, there will be live music and competitions including a stein hoist, stein slide, pretzel toss, and dachshund costume contest. Anderson Parks Oktoberfest

This Oktoberfest will combine the German festival with the Anderson Park District’s 50th anniversary. There’ll be food, live music, stein hoisting, wiener dog races, a big chicken dance, and craft beer from Wandering Monsters, Happy 2 Brewing, Dead Low Brewing, and Big Ash Brewing. Loveland Oktoberfest

Downtown Loveland will become a German village packed with festivities for all ages. The Biergarten will be serving up German Warsteiner beer and craft selections from DVD Brew alongside German food favorites. Competitions include stein hoisting, wiener dog races, a costume contest, and the new beard and mustache competition. Covington Oktoberfest

The beloved Mainstrasse Oktoberfest will be expanding this year to the streets surrounding Goebel Park. In addition to the classic music, food, and beer, there will be a ticketed tasing dinner at Braxton and a ton of activities like stein hoisting, a sausage toss competition, a pretzel eating contest, the Drindl Dog costume contest, a petting zoo, a Bengals tailgate, and more. Newport Oktoberfest

This Newport Oktoberfest is set to be the biggest yet with two beer tents, extensive food and drink options, traditional German music, local rock bands, stein hoisting, sausage tossing, log sawing, karaoke, and a full carnival. Moerlein Lager House will be offering a special chicken dinner meal including a half Oktoberfest chicken, braised cabbage, German potato salad, and one liter of beer for $29.99. Silverton Oktoberfest

HighGrain Brewing will be hosting Silverton’s Oktoberfest. Oxtoberfest

Uptown Oxford’s fourth annual fall festival will feature a Biergarten with German and local craft beers, a flower shop, local vendors and food trucks, stein hoists, games, face painting, inflatables, pumpkin decorating, and live music. FCC Oktoberfest Night

The Orange and Blue’s Oktoberfest celebrations begin at Prematch in the Park with a German hat-making station, a stein hoist challenge, a live polka performance, a themed photobooth, a coaster giveaway, and more. Then head to TQL stadium for the 7:30 kickoff against Nashville SC. Oktoberfest Zinzinnati

America’s largest Oktoberfest is back at Sawyer Point with over 70 different beers and more than 30 food vendors to enjoy. There’ll also be non-stop entertainment with live music, dancing, competitions, and circus acts going at all times at one of the six different stages. The Running of the Wieners is on Friday at noon, the Stein Hoist will be on Friday at 6 p.m., and the World’s Largest Chicken Dance will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday—all of these events will take place at the River Stage. Union Oktoberfest

Sonder & Friends Oktoberfest

Sonder Brewing is teaming up with the Greater Project for a combination Oktoberfest and fundraising 5K. The race will take place at 10 a.m. with a kids Root Beer Fun Run after the 5K ends. For the rest of the day, enjoy beers from seven different local breweries, German food, live music, kids activities, and a special Barktoberfest Beer Garden for dogs.
