No, it is not too early to sign your kids up for summer camp, and there are some great ones to chose from. In fact, just about every destination in Cincinnati, from parks to museums, offers some kind of summer programming. So we picked three top choices that you can sign up for right now.

Cincinnati Zoo

Kindergarteners through eighth graders can explore Cincinnati’s own wild kingdom at these half- or full-day camp sessions at the Cincinnati Zoo. From May through August, learn about animal life, from babies to predators, through crafts, games, and hikes through the zoo.

Cincinnati Nature Center

Kids ages 3 to 13 can spend a week in the great outdoors at one of the region’s coolest parks: Rowe Woods and Long Branch Farm & Trails. From June through August, park staff will help your kids escape the perils of modern life with age-appropriate nature activities like trail hiking and close (supervised!) encounters with woodland creatures.

Cincinnati Shakespeare Company

First- through twelvth-graders can learn theater basics like stage combat and makeup at this weeklong camp held downtown in June and July. Whether it’s their first time experiencing Shakespeare or they’re seasoned stage veterans, they’ll gain confidence, make friends, and learn a bit about literature along the way.
