It’s always fun to spice up your routine bottle of wine or swap your go-to cocktail for something new. The Party Source stocks more than 20,000 products year-round, including unique products like these eight choices. From tequila to cognac, next time you’re mixing up a cocktail or gifting a bottle of wine, try some new options.
Blind Squirrel Peanut Butter Whiskey
This smooth whiskey is a magical blend with—peanut butter? “Blind Squirrel has fast become our top seller,” says Micah Dennison, General Manager at The Party Source. “Try it with Chambord to make a PB&J shot or try mixing it with Irish cream liqueur to make a peanut butter cup shot.”
Bushel Organic Vodka
Bushel is made from non-GMO corn, certified organic, and gluten free. Using all natural ingredients, Bushel is distilled seven times making a crisp, clean vodka with a nice touch of sweetness shining through from the corn. “As Spring flowers begin to blossom, my mind goes to warm weather cocktails: vodka soda, martinis, electric lemonade, and Cosmos,” says Dennison. “This is a high quality alternative to the top brands in the vodka category.”
Greetings Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley
Delivering more power than you might expect from a Willamette Pinot, this high-value pinot noir delivers rich fruit, tobacco, and a hint of the famous cherry cola this region’s pinots are known for. Enjoy with garlic roast vegetables, wild mushroom risotto, and nearly any cheese you can think of.
Gran Vida Blanco Tequila
“Tequila is the fastest rising category in the Spirits world,” says Dennison. “Gran Vida Blanco is the perfect choice for sipping on its own or imparting maximum flavor into your summer cocktails.” It’s clean and crisp, with mango and pineapple notes that shine through on the palate with a nice creamy mouth feel. Gran Vida is a 100 percent blue agave tequila and half the price of comparable quality tequilas.
Spey Single Malt Scotch, 18 year
“After spending several weeks touring distilleries across the Scottish countryside, a few years back, single malts have dominated my tipple of choice—[it] has a special place in my heart.” says Dennison. Spey 18 year is from the Speyside Distillery in the highlands of Scotland and matured in sherry casks. It has aromas of spiced fruitcake, caramel, nuts, and warm vanilla.
Natale Verga Sauvignon Blanc, Veneto
Fresh-mown grass, white flowers and squeezed citrus, plus a lemon zest and grapefruit peel round out this flavorful and invigorating wine from Veneto in Northern Italy. The Party Source wine expert Jeremy Simmons recommends serving with herb-dusted chicken and grilled vegetables, or break the mold and serve with Thai or Vietnamese food.
Godet Gastronome VSOP Cognac
The Godet Cognac House is 100 percent family owned and now in the hands of the 15th generation of the Godet family. “They’re producing artisanal-style Cognac using the same distilling processes the family has practiced for centuries,” says Dennison. “These are true hand-crafted spirits focusing on terroir, the best grapes, fine oak aging, and the art of blending.” Dennison recommends on its own, neat or with an ice cube, or trying it in a Manhattan cocktail.
Coro ‘DNA’ Red Blend, Mendocino
Coro’s DNA is a richly-layered blend anchored by zinfandel and petite sirah. “[It’s] lighter on its feet than many high-powered California red blends, says Simmons. “Pair with BBQ ribs or bison burgers—it’s time to fire up the grill!”
