Welcome to the week of post-Thanksgiving, also known as the week where your friends or relatives stop complaining “Why are they putting up Christmas lights? It’s not even Thanksgiving yet!” With the end of Thanksgiving comes the true beginning of the holiday season, and we’ve got plenty of events to get you in the spirit.

Cincinnati Christkindl Market

You know it, you love it, you’ve been a million times. This German-American outdoor holiday festival downtown has lots of seasonal gifts for sale, sure, but also plenty of food, plenty of drinks, plenty of carols, an ice slide, and private igloos. It’s also free!
Nov 3, 6:30 p.m., Moerlein Lager House, 115 Joe Nuxhall Way, downtown

United Dairy Farmers Santa’s Workshop

Head down to Washington Park on any weekend afternoon from now until Christmas to get a free photo with Santa. Because who even goes to the mall anymore, anyways?
11 a.m.–2 p.m., Washington Park, 1230 Elm St., Over-the-Rhine

Deck the Y’alls

Every Cincinnatian’s favorite minor league baseball team, the Florence Y’alls—in case you haven’t heard, yes, they are literally named after the water tower—is decking out their stadium this weekend with 2.5 million lights and a giant ice skating rink. Ever wanted to step on the grass on a baseball field, and then go SKATING ON IT? Now’s your chance.
Thomas More Stadium, 7950 Freedom Way, Florence

Kings Island Winterfest

Parades! Eiffel Tower Christmas trees! Ice skating in a giant water fountain! King’s Island’s traditional Winterfest is back again with all the usual trappings. Twelve winter wonderlands, seven million lights, and all your favorite rides now open in the cold.
Kings Island, 6300 Kings Island Dr., Mason

Light Up The Square at Fountain Square

The traditional lighting of the Christmas tree at Fountain Square is this Friday (which is probably the day you’re reading this!) and features a bigger, better, now one-hour-long show full of lights, entertainment, dance performances, celebrity cameos, and more.
6 p.m., Fountain Square, 520 Vine St., downtown
