Once Reds Opening Day kicks off, it’s full steam ahead on spring events in the city. Whether you want to check out an art gallery, buy some rare vinyl, or watch a bunch of wiener dogs try to run across a hockey rink, there’s something for you.


Art After Dark: Native Visions

Every month the Cincinnati Art Museum holds their free Art After Dark party. The theme for March is “Native Visions” held in partnership with the Urban Native Collective to complement the temporary “Clearly Indigenous” exhibit and celebrate contemporary indigenous artists. There will be food from Indigenous Chef food truck, music from DJ Creepingbear, live painting by Leonard Harmon, a cash bar, and free gallery admission. Friday, March 29, 5-9 p.m., Cincinnati Art Museum, 953 Eden Park Dr., Eden Park

Indigo Hippo’s 8th Birthday Party

Beloved non-profit reuse craft store Indigo Hippo is celebrating its eighth year of being in business. The party will involve collage-making, treats, and a collaborative gallery show that all are welcome to participate in. If you have a piece of art that’s ready to hang 8×8 inches or smaller, and $25 or under, the store will hang it up and put it on sale. Feel free to bring art supply donations as well. The Queen of the West Burlesque Festival

Cincinnati’s first ever burlesque festival is taking place this weekend at Memorial Hall. There will be performances by burlesque groups from around the Ohio Valley area, workshops, and community development. The festival kicks off on Friday night with the House Party at Oddfellows which includes a pop-up show and contests. Northside Record Fair

More than 40 vendors will be descending upon Northside to pedal their wares to physical media enthusiasts for the second annual Record Fair. Vinyl fans will be able to find everything they dream of from contemporary LPs to obscure 78s. Vendors will also have CDs, cassettes, and music memorabilia for sale. Cincinnati Cyclones Pucks N Pups Night

This Saturday the Cincinnati Cyclones will be taking on the Wheeling Nailers but more importantly, it’s Pucks N Pups Night! Bring your dog to the arena to enjoy the game and eat $2 hot dogs. If you have a dachshund, sign them up for the half-time wiener dog race on the ice (and make sure someone films it so you’ll have that slippery memory forever). The players will be wearing special Scooby-Doo themed jerseys that they’ll auction after the game. 2024 Mx. Cincinnati Pride Pageant 

Which local drag performer will reign supreme? Drag artists of all genders, aesthetics, and expressions will be competing for the title of Mx. Cincinnati 2024. Cincinnati Pride is putting on the event hosted by PH Dee with a special performance by local legend and RuPaul’s Drag Race alum, Penny Tration. The event is 18+ and tickets are $5. There are also special tickets on sale for those with mobility needs. Saturday, March 30, 7 p.m., Woodward Theater, 1404 Main St., Over-the-Rhine

Easter Brunch Cruise

If you already enjoy nice family brunch on Easter, why not have it on a riverboat? You’ll cruise down the Ohio River with BB Riverboats enjoying a hearty buffet with food including waffles, eggs, sausage, ham, and plenty of bread and pastries. Don’t forget to get your picture taken with the Easter Bunny while on board. Cincinnati Reds vs. Washington Nationals

It’s the first Sunday baseball game of the Reds season which means it’s also the first Family Discount Day of the season. With the purchase of one full-price ticket, you can get three half-price tickets.
