See a beloved Christmas ballet return to Music Hall, watch Santa Claus scuba dive with sharks, enjoy an eclectic holiday concert, see a classic fairy tale get a remix, and head to The Banks wearing your ugliest Christmas sweater at these weekend events happening in Greater Cincinnati.

Cincinnati Ballet Presents The Nutcracker

See this beloved Tchaikovsky ballet and Cincinnati Christmas tradition in Music Hall’s Springer Auditorium. This Christmas tale follows a young girl’s Christmas dream featuring the Snow Queen and King, the Sugar Plum Fairy, the Mouse King, and a cast of mice, toy soldiers, bumblebees, chicks, Minnie the Poodle, and the heroic Nutcracker, of course. Find tickets and showtimes here.

Dec 16–26, Springer Auditorium, Music Hall, 1241 Elm St., Over-the-Rhine

A New Spin on Cinderella

The familiar fairy tale gets a remix for all ages at the Ensemble Theatre starting this weekend. The bookish title character battles her self-absorbed stepsisters and wicked stepmother as the King’s romantically-challenged son embarks on a mission to reunite a missing sneaker with its rightful owner—and find love. Find tickets and showtimes here.

Dec 16–30, Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati, 1127 Vine St., Over-the-Rhine

Last Weekend to See Scuba Santa’s Water Wonderland

It’s your last weekend to watch Santa dive with sea life at the Newport Aquarium. Kids can tell Santa and his elves their Christmas wishes as jolly St. Nick swims with sharks, rays, fish, and Denver the Loggerhead Sea turtle. Don’t fret if you can’t make it this weekend—Santa will also dive during the week up through Christmas Eve (he has plans later that night).

Dec 16–24, Newport Aquarium, 1 Aquarium Way, Newport

Christmas with Over the Rhine at Memorial Hall

The renowned alt-country duo graces Memorial Hall’s Anderson Theatre stage for three nights of holiday concerts this weekend. While the setlist won’t only feature yuletide carols, the duo says they intend to make “an intimate but hopefully holy ruckus” at their Christmas shows, which mark more than 20 years since they released their first holiday record. Find tickets and times here.

Dec 17–19, Anderson Theatre, Memorial Hall, 1225 Elm St., Over-the-Rhine

Ugly Christmas Sweater Bar Crawl at The Banks

This annual Christmastime crawl winds through The Banks with stops at Tin Roof, Fishbowl, Galla Park, AC Upper Deck Bar, Kitty’s Sports Bar, and Jefferson Social. Your ticket gets you free entrance to the bars, food and drink specials, DJs and entertainment, and more. You could even win (is that the right word?) the Ugly Sweater Contest for the worst (best?) dressed.

Dec 18, 2–9 pm, multiple locations at The Banks
