What if you had an app that told you where arts, entertainment, and sports events are happening in the Queen City? ArtsWave has you covered! With its new app, ArtsWave, the engine for the arts, aims to revolutionize how the region learns about, explores, and engages with with all the entertainment options the region has to offer. “[In Cincinnati] we love our sports, we love our arts, and we love our beer,” says Kathy DeBrosse, vice president of new products and initiatives for the organization. “So how do you find all of that in one place? Go to the app store and download the free ArtsWave App.”
The app functions as an events calendar where you can see everything happening in Cincinnati in one place. Major concerts, theatrical performances, Broadway musicals, intimate events, sports, and places to eat—the app lists it all in one spot. In addition to the calendar features, the app functions similarly to last-minute hotel and flight deals, but for local events. Real-time notifications alert users about last-minute and free tickets to shows, performances, and exhibits. Based on your preferences, the app sends information about ticket deals and available seats directly to your phone.
Users will get the inside scoop on with backstage tours, event previews, and interviews with celebrity performers and artists—exclusive content that’s available only in the app. BLINK is the first event that features unique, extra content you can’t get elsewhere. DeBrosse says users will see itineraries for each day of BLINK, artist interviews, and real-time updates throughout the event, as well as practical information like maps to point you to the closest restrooms and parking options.
While the app is free to download, users can unlock extra features through donations to ArtsWave. A $10 contribution grants access to the BLINK Insider Guide, and current ArtsWave donors who have a subscription to ArtsWave Pass will get it for free. For those looking for year-round benefits, a $100 donation unlocks the unlimited membership that offers more than 100 discounts on tickets to shows, concerts, and exhibitions at 50 percent off throughout year, along with real-time alerts for last-minute and free ticket opportunities.
Each donation impacts the 150+ arts organizations and projects that ArtsWave funds each year. The nonprofit is the primary source for local arts funding. Through donations done in-app, the community will help to support the artists and organizations that make events like BLINK happen. “And while helping the arts, users of the new ArtsWave app will save time, money, and get in-the-know about all that’s happening in Cincinnati.” says DeBrosse.
