Have you been eyeing a Louis Vuitton or missed out on a limited edition Chanel? Hyde Park boutique Jacob James stocks new and pre-loved luxury goods. Owner Michelle Randle started her career as a jeweler at some of Cincinanti’s most upscale department stores, from her early days at Gidding-Jenny to Saks Fifth Avenue. Later, she became Director of Stores at Stafford Jewelers, where she launched Jacob James and took it over when the company shuttered early last year.

Randle says Jacob James is unlike any other shop in Cincinnati. “It’s a fun, cool, chic boutique,” says Randle. “Unlike when you go into a traditional boutique, [where] it’s all Chanel or all Gucci, I have everybody. Any high line, luxury piece—we have. And we get new things every day.” With a large selection of designers, including Louis Vuitton, Prada, Gucci, Chanel, Bottega, Fendi, Balenciaga, and YSL, here are some of the pieces you’ll find at Jacob James.

New Designer Jewelry

During Randle’s storied career as a jeweler, she connected with new designers around the world, and now brings their items into her boutique. Jacob James offers a selection of designer pieces like a strand of pearls—a classic item that makes a great graduation gift—as well as collections for every style from trendy to classic. Designers like Assael Akoya modernize classics like these pearl silk earrings and matching necklace. Randle also carries pieces from Barry Brinker, Chimento, Almor, and more.

Pre-loved Designer Jewelry

Tiffany & Co. is an iconic brand with dozens of collections that we all love. You’ll find popular designs like the Return to Tiffany collection, as well as brands like David Yurman, John Hardy, and many more.

Pre-loved and Rare Designer Handbags

Randle’s store is a great resource for those truly hard-to-find and rare designer bags. You’ll need to move quickly—these special pieces get snapped up quickly, whether they’re gently used or new. Whether you’re looking for limited edition Louis Vuitton to that special Chanel, Jacob James can probably help. “I had a bag, a Westminster Chanel bag that was a very limited run, it sold out,” says Randle. “We had one in the store and sold it to a man. He said: We saw this bag in Paris four years ago and my wife said, every day, it’s her biggest regret that she didn’t buy this bag. He e-mailed me [later] that she was thrilled to death. It’s a really cool avenue to find something that’s sold out or something that you’ve been looking for.”

Vintage Jewelry

A necklace or ring with a story behind it is not only a conversation starter, it’s a time capsule to pass down generation-to-generation. Create your own story with a pair of vintage diamond earrings like these 14K white gold clipbacks, or these 14K yellow gold diamond drop earrings with a bold lightning bolt pattern. For someone with funky style, there’s often something for you, like this enamel and diamond spider charm.
