Pizza, and craft beer, and signature cocktails, oh my!

Local favorites Dewey’s Pizza and Braxton Brewing Co. have officially joined forces as the Cincinnati pizza chain’s newest location—its first in the area since 2017—opens in Covington on Tuesday, May 9.

The Braxton Brewing taproom has been selling items from Dewey’s Pizza’s full menu from the bar while the restaurant was under construction, but now diners can sit inside Dewey’s new location right next door at 43 W. Seventh St. It’s currently the second Dewey’s Pizza in Northern Kentucky. However, there’s something extra special about this location: in addition to pizza, calzones, salads, craft beer, and wine, Covington will be the only testing ground for Dewey’s signature cocktails. No word yet on what those may be, but could we suggest a Pepperoni Old Fashioned? On second thought, maybe not…

Restaurant officials say they look forward to establishing a sense of community with other local businesses.

“It’s been a pleasure to work alongside Braxton Brewing Company to service their taproom and now we have the honor of opening our full-service dining room right next door,” Dewey’s president Chuck Lipp says in the announcement. “The team is beyond thrilled to accomplish this milestone, opening our second Northern Kentucky location, and join the community.”

The Covington location is the chain’s 25th across the Midwest, just in time for the company’s 25th anniversary. In the future, Dewey’s is looking to add more outdoor seating as Seventh Street renovations continue. A new Dewey’s is also coming to Union, Kentucky in early 2024 as part of a mammoth joint location with Graeter’s and Braxton including a 20,000-square-foot beer garden.
