Around here, Halloween is more than a day to trick or treat. It’s a month-long celebration of spooky, scary, silly, sweet fun. So we present a Top 5 in three parts. This week: Halloween, Family Style.

4. This is the last weekend for Fall-O-Ween Festival at Coney Island: Lake Como pumpkin launch, Halloween magic show, Fright Lights musical light show, and a trick-or-treat trail, plus Coney’s classic rides. October 22–23. coneyislandpark.com/fall-o-ween-festival

5. A third-generation working farm in Walton, Kentucky, Benton Farms opens its gates to the public two weekends in October for Pumpkin Days, which features hayrides, pumpkin patch, cow milking, newborn calf brushing, sheep shearing, horse rides, and an indoor hay maze.
