1. Cincinnati Cheese Festival
If you like cheese and beer (and who doesn’t?), then the first ever Cincinnati Cheese Festival is a can’t-miss event. Head to Christian Moerlein Brewery in Over-the-Rhine to celebrate gourmet cheese from specialty cheese and food producers from across the country. Admission includes unlimited samples of more than 300 cheeses. Enjoy live music from Blue Caboose, a grilled cheese competition, and of course: beer. 2. The Fox on the Fairway
Feeling farcical? Theater buffs should pencil in”The Fox on the Fairway,” a comedy about golf and shenanigans at a private country club, on stage at Covedale Center for the Performing Arts. 3. Dayton Train Show
The National Model Railroad Association hosts the 40th Annual Dayton Train Show this weekend at Hara Arena. The exhibition is the largest of its kind in Ohio. Experience more than 500 dealer tables, more than 20 operating layouts, more than 35 exhibitors, hourly door prizes, how-to clinics, and train rides for kids. 4. Carly Aquilino
This weekend, comedian and television personality Carly Aquilino is performing for at Newport on the Levee’s Funny Bone for three nights. The 24-year-old New Yorker has a budding stand-up comedy career and is a regular on the MTV show Girl Code. 5. College Hoops Exhibition Games
College basketball season doesn’t tip off until next week, but those hungry for an early taste of Cincy hoops can check out exhibition games this week. The Bearcats play Grand Valley State (MI) on November 3 at 7 p.m. and Bellarmine (KY) on November 7 at noon. Both games are at Fifth Third Arena.
