Lesley Hern (left) and Ivy Pitzer met when Pitzer owned the dearly departed Plum Diore boutique. They became fast friends—and a dynamic fashion duo. Hern now owns The Wardrobe in Madeira, and Pitzer is a stylist for Wardrobe Therapy. The two share their sartorial perspectives.

Describe each other’s style.
LH: Ivy’s style has a vintage feel. She’s good at pairing soft, flowy styles with modern pieces. IP: Lesley is very polished, but with a slight edge.

And Your fashion Influences?
LH: Diane Kruger can never go wrong; she’s modern and sophisticated. IP: I love how Gwen Stefani has evolved from crazy rocker chick to businesswoman. Her L.A.M.B. line is amazing.

What’s new for Spring?
LH: Spring is all about beautiful primary colors like the red, flowy pants by Danish designer Malene Birger. IP: Lesley caught that before anyone. My clients love Malene.

Favorite Jeans?
IP: AG jeans are my favorite brand. They’re a nice mid-rise, straight leg style. A lot of my clients like them. LH: Ivy’s clients trust her because they know she’s going to make them look good and feel good.
