What inspired you to start your blog, My Moments of Whimsy?
I needed a creative outlet. I was feeling a little lost. I’ve always loved clothes and fashion but I’d found myself in a bit of a rut. Starting this blog was a way for me to really think about my style and the way I present myself to the world. I also thought it would be a way to get more familiar with my closet and become better at remixing things I already own.
You’ve blogged that being a stay-at-home mom requires a more casual look than you’re used to.
Cincinnatians in general don’t dress up. The suburbs are even more casual, so I tend to stick out like a sore thumb. I have to decide if I really feel like getting the “Oh no she didn’t” look at Meijer.
Any recent scores?
The vintage leather jacket I got at Mustard Seed in Clifton and my Miley Cyrus denim shirt from Walmart.
Do you ever shop online?
I’ve bought some cool vintage dresses and skirts from DearGoldenVintage on Etsy.
What do you reach for most often?
Cardigans. I probably have 50 or so in rotation right now, not counting the ones in storage in the basement or stuffed in a drawer so my husband doesn’t know I’ve bought another one!
