Game On

Nashville-based Gentlemen’s Hardware offers a slew of board and card games to help pass time in the car, including Road Trip Trivia, Beer Trivia, and Campfire Story Dice. In which U.S. state will you find the largest ball of twine? Your turn! Or you can just play the license plate game.

Where to Gas Up

Everyone loves stopping at Buc-ee’s on a long road trip, but the closest ones right now are in Richmond, Kentucky, and the Gatlinburg/Sevierville exit on I-40. Ohio’s first Buc-ee’s will open next year in the Dayton suburb of Huber Heights.

Dayton and Columbus are good spots to check out Sheetz, the Pennsylvania-based chain offering fresh-made food and custom coffee 24/7, plus a drive-through window. And that other buzzy Pennsylvania chain, Wawa, is expected to join the fun next year, when the first Cincinnati area gas/food shop opens in Deerfield Township, followed by four more around town. Bring on Hoagiefest!
