Calling all Cincinnati cake bakers!
Do you have what it takes to bake a tasty cake using craft brews as an ingredient and decorated to celebrate 10 years with one of the city’s favorite breweries?
Whether you’re a home baker or a professional, this competition is for you: Cincinnati Magazine is proud to introduce the 2023 MadTree Brewing Bonanza Birthday Cake Contest! Baker applications are being accepted NOW through February 1, and the selected participants will be notified February 8. Cake drop off will take place on February 24 from 2–4 p.m. Awards ceremony and cake display will take place on February 25 at the MadTree Bonanza Birthday Bash. Bakers will get the chance to win awards in the following categories: Visual (amateur & professional), Taste (amateur & professional), Overall Winner (amateur & professional), and People’s Choice (amateur & professional).
RULES
- Cake must be a two-layered, stacked cake
- Cake must use MadTree product as an ingredient
- Cake theme should be MadTree-inspired (birthday, impact and sustainability, beer, etc.)
- Bakers must also submit a single-layer, undecorated tasting cake
PARTICIPANT REQUIREMENTS
- must be 18 or older
- must bake out of your home kitchen
- must not be an employee of a restaurant, bakery, caterer or a commercial kitchen
- must bake all entries from scratch (no box mixes, etc.)
- must use a MadTree product as an ingredient and have a MadTree theme
- must submit photos of previous creations
- must be 18 or older
- must be a current employee of a restaurant, bakery, caterer or a commercial kitchen
- must bake out of a professional kitchen and obtain approval from employer to participate
- must bake all entries from scratch (no box mixes, etc.)
- must use a MadTree product as an ingredient and have a MadTree theme
