Read Across America Day at the Cincinnati Museum Center

92

While I’d argue that every day should be a reading holiday, there’s something pretty special about celebrating once a year. Though National Read Across America Day is March 2, the Cincinnati Museum Center is partnering with the Public Library of Cincinnati & Hamilton County on February 28 to celebrate this and another auspicious occasion: Dr. Seuss’s birthday. If you’ve got brains in your head and feet in your shoes, you won’t want to miss these literary festivities. In addition to an all-day Adopt-a-Book drive, there will be several story times, a singing librarian, and an opportunity to practice reading to a friendly therapy dog at noon. Dogs and Dr. Seuss. What’s better than that?

Children 12 and under get in free with a library card and the purchase of an adult ticket. No library card? No problem. Sign ’em up when you arrive.

February 28, 10 a.m.–5 p.m., Duke Energy Children’s Museum, 1301 Western Ave., cincymuseum.org/events/read-across-america
