For tween girls who want to be like their yoga-and-pilates fit moms, ivivva is the Skipper to Lululemon’s Barbie. Ivivva, Lululemon’s sister store geared towards young girls, recently opened an outpost a few minutes’ stroll from Lulu’s Hyde Park location. The showroom reads like a miniature-version of the grownup store, filled with stretchy sports gear like hoodies, leotards, and pants (not see-through) for girls size 4-14, plus essentials like yoga mats and water bottles. The entire place is decked out in a girly-modern combination of muted pastels and punchy brights.
Like it’s big sister, ivivva isn’t limited to selling merchandise: as a Showroom (slightly different than a full-fledged store), the Hyde Park location carries the brand’s key styles and is only open part of the week so that they can be out in the community. They sponsor complimentary yoga classes, family-oriented workshops, and generally try to get involved in area activities in order to boost young girls’ confidence and encourage them to exercise. Workout Barbie would be proud.
