Join the Healthy Roots Foundation, formerly Bluegrass for Babies (which holds its annual fundraising concert at Sawyer Point on Saturday, September 20) , for a family-friendly event at the Madeira Branch of the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County to kickoff the nonprofit’s rebranding.

Activities planned for the kickoff event include a Blue Manatee Press story time and some healthy eating activities, such as learning how to build a pizza garden (that is, a garden of organic tomatoes, sweet bell peppers, and basil to, you know, put on pizza).

The whole thing starts with a presentation of sixty Blue Manatee Press books to the Giving Hope Program at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. The books will go to families receiving care through the hospital’s Newborn Intensive Care Unit.

So if you like books, and babies, and pizza, this event will be a pretty good fit.

Friday, August 8. The event is free to attend, but space is limited. Pre-registration is required, and can be done by calling (513) 871-0653 or by visiting bluegrassforbabies.com.
