The Cincinnati Museum Center at Union Terminal is hosting Appalachia Culture Fest on February 14, with songs and stories from Barb and Russ Childers of The Rabbit Hash String Band, an Appalachian marketplace, crafts, and a performance from the Crossroads Elementary Square Dance Team. And if you’re looking to brush up on your wilderness survival skills (for when you’re thrown out of the house for ogling the sweet curves of an upright bass), you won’t want to miss demonstrations of hand-weaving and flint knapping.
All activities in the rotunda and surrounding areas are free, but if you want to make an ugly face jug—what kind of question is that? Of course you do—or play traditional Appalachian games in the Duke Energy Children’s Museum, you’ll need to pick and grin your way to a membership or purchase tickets.
