On The Market: Neighboring OTR Homes

It’s hard to believe looking at them today, but these two-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath Over the Rhine homes “were empty for many years and one of them even suffered a complete collapse,” says listing agent Seth Maney. Decades before that, he adds, “They were all connected and had 18 tenement-style apartments in them.”

Today, the 168-year-old structures are better-than-new single-family homes with stained walnut floors, exposed brick walls, cool ironwork details and sleek remodeled kitchens and baths. Another fun plus: the cabinetry in these homes was custom built by Brush Factory, a local woodworking shop headed up by DAAP grads Hayes Shanesy and Rosie Kovacs that we wrote about in this March 2016 story; if the pair’s past work is any indication, the cabinetry in these homes is stylish, solid and made to last a lifetime—a definite perk for potential homebuyers.
