7855 Ayers Road, Anderson, $3,350,000
Before you say you’re not a fan of new construction, take a look at this place. One of our beefs about new builds is the sometimes sterile feel; not so here. This home has charming finishes throughout that play well with the home’s French Country decor: pointed, arched windows and French doors; random width hardwood floors; wood-beamed ceilings in the great room, kitchen and basement; decorative brick and stone accent walls—even a butler’s pantry with leaded glass-front cabinets.
Then again, the beauty of a brand new house is all the spaces you might not get if this place were old: a sunken tub in the master bath, an elevator and a greenhouse, to name a few.
What we really wish, though, is that we’d been there for the August open house, not just to see those features in person, but to see the entertainment that listing agent Jennifer Vories and her team brought on site: synchronized swimmers in the pool, a new Mercedes parked out front and a raffle for a Grand Cayman Island trip for two. Any chance of a do-over?
