On The Market: A Pleasant Ridge Rehab

981
Pleasant Ridge is pretty hot as real estate markets go these days. The neighborhood saw its first teardown a few years ago; now people are starting to undertake some major rehabs on the area’s older structures. Case in point, this stately brick four bedroom home on Montgomery Road, right between the neighborhood’s two most desirable streets – Orchard and Grand Vista. Chances are, if you’ve driven through the area, you’ve seen it.

The 90-year-old home with a red tile roof went through a rough patch a few years back, but the current owner paired with Prodigy Properties to do a complete overhaul inside and out, says listing agent Jay Owens. We’re talking a new stone, floor-to-ceiling façade on the living room fireplace, a sleek open-concept kitchen with cool black-and-white marbled granite, a beautifully restored front stair and banister – even an electric gate with keypad on the driveway.

The resulting structure is move-in ready and just a hop-skip-and-a-jump from downtown Pleasant Ridge’s many attractions – among them: Everybody’s Records, the BP station taco truck, Share Cheesebar and – hooray! – the soon-to-be-new location of Coffee Exchange at 6041 Montgomery Road, next to Fifth Third Bank.
