We know, we know. For $1.3 million a lot of people would expect everything in this house to be brand-spanking-new, but hear us out. Regular readers of this blog will know by now that Ohio River views are a big draw for local buyers. This property, near the border of Columbia Tusculum and Hyde Park, is no exception. In fact, we’d go so far as to say it’s a pretty rare piece of property; not only does it have, as noted in the listing, panoramic views both up and down the Ohio River, it’s a stand-alone house with pretty much nothing blocking those views (no, that charming spire from St. Rose’s Church off in the distance doesn’t count).

By now, most properties like this have been scooped up by developers who’d likely tear down the house and instead cram a few too many condos or townhomes on the lot. The home recently went sale pending, so it’s still possible that will happen, but being honest, we’d be sad if it did.

The architectural style is nothing fancy, but still, the person who designed this home capitalized on its location by lining the entire main floor of the home with glass doors and windows. Beyond that, the home has a spacious porch-slash-deck that also spans the entire length of the home. Add in a decent-sized yard below (which looks like it could make a swell spot for an infinity pool), and we can see endless possibility for any homebuyer willing to tackle a few updates.
